What it does
Six expenses on one Thursday, logged four different ways. The weekly round-up and the monthly review come after.
Set a recurring expense to Notify me, and MAUVE reminds you on the day it’s due. Tap the reminder to confirm the amount. You’ll also hear when your round-up is ready, and you can switch each one off.
After you pay by PayNow, Back Tap your iPhone on the payment screen. MAUVE reads the amount from the screenshot, and if it can’t read it clearly, it won’t guess.
Set up an iOS Shortcuts automation once, and your Apple Pay taps in store are logged for you, with the amount and where you paid.
Without opening the app
Cash at the hawker, or anything else: double-tap the back of your phone, press the Action Button, or ask Siri. Type the amount and what it was. MAUVE files it under the right category and learns from your corrections.
Each category gets a bar. It fills amber as you spend and turns red when you go over, with “over” written next to it.
Each week, MAUVE writes a short check-in on how your week went, including what stayed on track and what ran warm. It’s something to read. No money moves.
Groceries came in at $52.80, under the $60.00 you planned.
After each month, MAUVE lays out what you spent in each category and proposes a budget from it. Adjust any line, then confirm. Nothing changes until you do.
Each week, a round-up of how you’re tracking. Every month, a review that helps you set a budget that’s yours.
Privacy & trust
MAUVE never asks for your bank or card details. Expenses come from your Apple Pay taps, your PayNow screenshots and what you type.
If the amount on a PayNow screenshot isn’t clear, MAUVE won’t fill one in.

Made for PayNow and cash at the hawker.
FAQ
It’s free during the beta.
No. There’s no bank login. Expenses come from Apple Pay taps (through a Shortcuts automation you set up once), PayNow screenshots you Back Tap, and anything you type.
No. Apple Pay taps in store log once your Shortcut is set up. PayNow takes a Back Tap. Cash and anything else, you add with Quick Add in a few seconds.
MAUVE sorts expenses with its own rules first. When no rule fits, the expense description is sent to an AI model (Anthropic’s Claude) to suggest a category, and PayNow screenshots you Back Tap are read by it to find the amount. Fix a category once and MAUVE learns from it.
Not yet. MAUVE is iPhone only, and there’s no Android version planned right now.
